ACQUISITIONS
The acquisitions the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery has made in jewellery art form an important section within the Toowoomba City Collection. Works for the jewellery collection are purchased from each Contemporary Wearables Exhibition to create a representative selection of quality crafted jewellery. This collection is the basis for the Gallery's plan to establish Toowoomba as a centre of excellence in jewellery art.

The jewellery collection also holds works from the past. The Toowoomba Art Gallery through the Gallery Society recently acquired two pieces by the early twentieth century jewellery artist Rhoda Wager and her niece Dorothy Wager. To enhance the scope of the collection the Gallery Society also seeks works with historical significance. The Society has purchased for the collection an Australian miner's piece from the late 1800s. The first purchase for the jewellery collection was funded by the Gordon Darling Foundation. Subsequent pieces from the Exhibitions have been acquired by the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery and the Toowoomba Gallery Society.
